A very small studio, ten minutes from the parks
96+ pairs made by hand, 5.0 stars from 31 reviews, and a genuinely unreasonable amount of sequin fabric.
It started with one pair that didn't exist yet
Cluless Designs began the way most of these things do — wanting a specific pair of ears for a specific trip, not being able to find them anywhere, and deciding that how hard could it be, really.
It was, as it turns out, quite hard. The first few pairs were heavy, the trim was wrong, and the bows sat at an angle that only became obvious in photographs. But the fourth pair was good, and someone stopped us in line to ask where we'd got them, and that was more or less that.
Two years and 96-plus pairs later, we're still working out of a small studio in Kissimmee, about ten minutes from the parks — which means every design gets field-tested properly, in August, in the heat, for fourteen hours, before it goes in the shop.
Everything is still made by hand, one pair at a time. That's a deliberate choice and not a temporary stage. The moment you make a hundred of something identical, it stops being the thing people stop you in line to ask about.

How a pair gets made
Every design starts as a sketch and a pile of fabric swatches on the table. Colour comes first — sequin fabric behaves very differently under Florida sun than it does under a parade light, and a shade that looks perfect on a screen can read completely flat in person.
The base is built next: foam batting shaped over a lightweight headband, with velvet trim along the underside where it meets your head. This is the part nobody photographs and the part that determines whether you're still wearing the ears at 9pm. Hard plastic bands are cheaper, faster, and the reason most park ears end up in a bag by lunchtime.
Then the detail work, which is where the time goes. Crystals set one at a time. Feathers sewn and glued, because feathers that are only glued will shed all over your shoulders by the afternoon. Faces sculpted from flexible foam and hand-painted, which is why the coconut pairs all end up with slightly different expressions. Fairy lights sewn into the bow rather than laid on top, so the glow diffuses through the fabric.
And somewhere in almost every pair, something hidden — a glow-in-the-dark detail, a shape tucked into the back, a secret tail. People usually find it a few days into the trip and message us about it. That's the best part of the job.
“I was so excited to receive my cherry blossom ears for my trip — absolutely beautiful! Amazing quality, and I loved the cute little wrist surprise.”
What we won't do
We don't use official logos, licensed character prints, or copyrighted artwork. Everything here is an original handmade design made with plain fabrics — velvet, sequins, satin, faux fur, felt — and inspired by themes, colours and aesthetics rather than copied from anything.
We also won't rush a pair to a deadline we can't actually meet. If you need something in three days and it's a five-day build, we'll tell you that rather than send you something we're not happy with.

Have something in mind we haven't made yet?
That's our favourite kind of order. Tell us the idea — a character, a colour palette, a wedding, a birthday, a trip you've been planning for two years — and we'll design it from scratch.
