Spooky season, done properly

Halloween is the busiest month in the studio, and it is not close. If you want a custom Halloween pair, the honest advice is to ask in August — by the last week of September the queue is usually full, and a rushed pair is never as good as an unhurried one.

The ready-made designs here run from genuinely subtle to unmistakably seasonal. The witch hats read from across the park. The spider pair has appliqués on the front and the back, so it works from every angle in a crowd. The skeleton pair is the quiet one — from a distance it just looks like a fun print.

The glow-in-the-dark ones

Several designs in this collection use glow-in-the-dark paint or neon tulle rather than battery lights, which behaves differently and, for Halloween, usually better. Glow paint charges under daylight and then holds a soft green for a couple of hours after dark — eerier and more atmospheric than an LED, and there's no battery to die halfway through the night.

The grinning cat pair is the best example: in daylight it's pink and purple sherpa, and after dark the eyes and smile are the only part of him you can see. Which is rather the point.
